Software Design Engineer in Test - Algorithm (contract)
Works closely with the software development team to assist in refining a machine learning technology by creating a test environment to compare actual results vs. expected results. Test protocols will seek to automate testing where practical and to employ manual testing where needed. Oversees and conducts verification testing, analyzes data, and documents conclusions in final test reports.
Primary Responsibilities
- Translates software requirement specifications into software test protocols and test cases.
- Collaborates with application software development engineers to develop software tests.
- Assists in conducting statistical performance verification against large data sets.
- Develops and executes automated test cases using C# and NUnit framework.
- Documents test activities, identifies test discrepancies and collaborates with engineering to ensure resolution.
Qualifications
- Four year degree or equivalent optimal. Computer science or engineering degree preferred.
- 3+ years experience in formal software development and/or test environment.
- Strong understanding of formal Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Must have experience with software verification testing, preferably in a regulated industry.
- Object oriented programming experience in one or more of the following languages: C++ C#, Java required.
- Recent Matlab experience also required.
- Experience using N-unit (or J-unit) or other automated system desired.
- Experience with XML also required.
