Senior Software Design Engineer in Test (SDET)
The Senior SDET is responsible for providing leadership and insight as appropriate during new product development to ensure that the design, development and verification of software complies with product specifications and regulatory requirements. Works closely with software development engineers to refine software requirement specifications and develops test plans and protocols. Test plans and protocols will strongly favor automated testing, employing manual tests only where needed.
Primary Responsibilities
- Participate in the finalization of software requirements specifications.
- Create and organize test designs, system-level test cases, and test protocols. Automated test cases will use C# and the NUnit framework.
- Consult with embedded software engineers as they develop their unit tests in a TDD environment.
- Document test activities and collaborate with embedded software engineers to ensure resolution of test discrepancies.
- Design and develop tools for build and test automation.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent experience required.
- Experience in the test or development of embedded or PC application software.
- 8+ years experience in formal software and test engineering:
- Experience creating automated tests and test infrastructure.
- Experience with bug tracking and documentation.
- Software/Test experience across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Strong software engineering skills.
- Experience with either embedded, desktop or compute cluster platforms required.
- 3+ years experience in object-oriented development (C#, Java, or C++).
- Excellent ad hoc testing skills.
- Experience using NUnit (or JUnit) or other automated system desired.
- Experience in a scripting language such as Perl a plus.
- Experience with embedded real time operating systems also a plus.
